Extra support available for unpaid carers

The government has announced a new plan called Recognise, Refer, Reach. It helps unpaid carers get support earlier and access services more easily.

What is changing

The plan includes:

better identification of carers through the NHS App
new information for carers on GOV.UK
improved support for young carers
greater involvement of carers in hospital discharge planning
more support for employees with caring responsibilities from 2027
