Let's talk tech smart glasses

Last month, Sight for Surrey ran a Let's Talk Tech session about Smart Glasses. Smart Glasses are special glasses that connect to the internet. They have small cameras, microphones and speakers built in. They let people take photos or videos, listen to sound and use AI tools without using their hands.

These glasses can help people who are blind or partially sighted. They use AI and cameras to give quick, hands‑free information about what is around them. This can help people read, find their way and recognise objects on their own. Examples include Meta Ray‑Ban glasses, Envision Glasses and OrCam.

You can find many easy‑to‑follow videos online about Smart Glasses. Here are some helpful ones:

If you would like to book a demonstration and one-to-one session to try out a pair of Smart Glasses, please email Sight for Surrey at technology@sightforsurrey.org.uk
