Latest updates from Catalyst Support

Client session contributions for counselling

From 1 June 2025, Catalyst Support has introduced client session contributions to help keep its counselling service running in the current financial climate.

The contribution amount is based on each client’s income and circumstances. This helps ensure the service remains accessible to those who need it. The rates are still subsidised.

If you refer someone to Catalyst Counselling, please make sure they are aware of these new contributions before their first session.

Community hubs now open

Catalyst Support has launched a new network of free local hubs across Surrey. These weekly drop-in sessions offer a welcoming space where people can get help, advice and signposting to local services.

The hubs bring together support from Catalyst Support, Citizens Advice and Home-Start. This includes mental health support, financial advice and parenting or perinatal support.

The hubs are open at the following locations. No booking or referral is needed:

  • the Chertsey hub is at Revive Coffee Shop, The Beacon, 95 Guildford Street, KT16 9AS. It runs on Wednesdays from 10am to 12pm.
  • the Woking hub is at St Andrew’s Church, Goldsworth Park, GU21 3LG. It runs on Thursdays from 10am to 12pm.
  • the Egham hub is at The Village Centre, 68 Victoria Street, Englefield Green, TW20 0QX. It runs on Tuesdays from 10am to 12pm.
  • the Godalming hub is at Ockford & Aarons Hill Hub, 1 Ock Way, GU7 2FL. It runs on Fridays from 9.30am to 11.30am.
  • The Guildford hub is at Guildford Family Centre, Hazel Avenue, Southway, GU1 1NR. It runs on Mondays from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

Community Connections referrals

Catalyst Support offers help for people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This includes support for life changes, stress and those who are ready to take part in short-term one-to-one sessions or group activities.

Catalyst Support is not able to help with the following:

  • Active alcohol or drug dependence that needs specialist addiction services
  • Severe, complex or treatment-resistant mental health conditions that need intensive support
  • High-risk cases involving serious self-harm or suicidal thoughts that may need crisis intervention

If someone’s needs fall outside of what Catalyst Support can offer, you may want to consider:

  • Alcohol and drug services
  • Surrey Drug and Alcohol Care
  • i-access drug and alcohol service
  • Crisis mental health helpline
  • Safe Havens

If you are unsure whether Catalyst Support is suitable for someone, contact Caitlin Flynn, senior link worker and interim senior group worker:
