Royal Surrey to host Community Open Day

Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford is inviting the public to a free Community Open Day on 28 June, from 11am to 3pm.

This is a chance to learn more about the hospital's services and meet the people who provide care in your community.

What you can see and do

  • tour an operating theatre and see one of the hospital's surgical robots in action
  • watch treatment demonstrations using simulation patients
  • join careers sessions and speak to NHS staff about working in healthcare
  • visit the new Cancer Centre and learn about cancer care
  • get a free PSA blood test from the Prostate Project to help detect prostate cancer
  • take part in health checks and training, including:
    • blood pressure checks
    • CPR and lifesaving skills
    • tips for better sleep

Emergency services will also be there. You can get a close-up look at a fire engine, first responder unit, and police car.

Plan your visit

You can find more details about the event on the Royal Surrey website. You don’t need to book in advance, but places for the 'behind the scenes' tours will be available to book on the day.
