Unpaid carers not getting help they need

There are around 120,000 unpaid carers living in Surrey. Many of them are not getting the support that is available.

Action for Carers Surrey wants to help more carers come forward. During Carers Week (9–15 June 2025), they will be working to find the missing carers who are not yet signed up for support.

The charity offers a wide range of free services, including:

help with benefits and legal advice
support groups and emotional support
wellbeing events and free days out
practical care and information about carers’ rights

These services can help carers feel less alone, more informed, and more positive about the future.
