Careline Guildford
Guildford Borough Council
Careline is a 24-hour emergency call system, helping people live independently in their own home.
Anyone living in Guildford can apply to use the service.
Careline customers include:
- older people
- people with physical or learning disabilities
- people at risk of falling
- people worried about bogus callers
- people coming out of hospital
- people at risk of domestic violence
The alarm unit can easily be installed in a person's home and comes with a wearable pendant.
Pressing the pendant activates the alarm, which automatically calls a care centre.
The caller can then speak through a loudspeaker to a specially trained operator, who will respond to their needs and organise appropriate assistance. Care centres are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
