Princess Alice Hospice The Man Shed
The Man Shed is a free woodwork group at Princess Alice Hospice. It offers a relaxed space where people can meet others, learn new skills and spend time together. It is an alternative to formal support.
The Shed is open to men and women. People who attend may be patients, carers or bereaved. Everyone starts with a taster session. After that, they can attend 16 weekly sessions. If there is space, they may be able to continue for longer.
No woodworking experience is needed. People can make something for themselves or a loved one, or help make items to raise money for the Hospice. There is no pressure to talk, but the Shed is a safe place to chat about anything.
Sessions run on:
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for men only
- Tuesdays for women only
- Fridays for mixed groups
Times are:
- Monday to Thursday: 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm
- Friday: 1.30pm to 3.30pm
