Handyperson Scheme Elmbridge Borough Council

Many older and vulnerable people find it difficult to carry out odd jobs around the home and don't have anybody they can ask to help.

Care and Repair Elmbridge (CARE) have a handyperson who has been DBS checked and offers an affordable and reliable service.

Examples of the work undertaken include:

  • minor plumbing repairs
  • fitting shelves
  • installing smoke or carbon monoxide alarms
  • fitting grab rails or banisters
  • fitting key safes

Many other types of work can be undertaken, if they take no longer than one hour.

This service is open to homeowners or private tenants in Elmbridge who are either; aged 70 or more; disabled; are vulnerable in some other way or are on means tested benefits.
