Attendance Allowance

GOV.UK

Attendance Allowance is a benefit for people who are State Pension age or older and need help because of a disability or health condition.

You could get £73.90 or £110.40 a week, depending on how much care you need. This money helps with personal support but does not cover mobility needs.

You do not need to have a carer to apply. If you do have one, they might be able to claim Carer’s Allowance.

You can apply if:

  • you have a physical or mental disability or health condition
  • you need help caring for yourself
  • you’ve needed this help for at least 6 months (unless you’re nearing the end of life)

What's included:

  • paid every 4 weeks
  • not affected by your savings or income
  • may increase other benefits like Pension Credit or Housing Benefit
