Tech Angels - Surrey Coalition of Disabled People
Surrey Coalition of Disabled People
The service is for people who are at the highest risk of digital exclusion, including:
- people who are disabled
- people with a long-term health condition
- people with mental ill-health
- carers
- older people
- people from black and minoritised ethnic groups
Unfortunately, due to funding restrictions, they cannot offer the service in Elmbridge, Spelthorne, and Woking.
The service is made up of 4 parts. You can access all of them, or just the parts you need.
Tech Angels can:
- lend a device that suits a person's needs (for example, a tablet, a smartphone, or a smart home speaker). People can keep the device for 6 months. Tech Angels then contact the person, and if they want to keep it for longer, someone can arrange it.
- match people up with a volunteer Tech Angel. Together, people agree how they would like to be supported and what they would like to achieve.
- connect people to the ‘stay connected’ virtual social groups, if they would like to join them, or others on offer through the Virtual Wellbeing Hub.
- give people the opportunity to become a virtual volunteer if they would like to.
All the services are free of charge.
