Egham Orbit Leisure Centre

Egham Orbit works with Runnymede Access Liaison Group (RALG) to make swimming more inclusive for disabled people. Achieve Lifestyle, which runs the centre, has also partnered with Egham Constellations to help residents with limited mobility swim in a safe and welcoming environment.

The centre supports the disabled community in Runnymede by offering:

• swimming in both the main and small pools, which have movable floors to suit adults and children
• dedicated changing rooms for people with limited mobility, with easy access to all poolside areas
• wheelchair storage on the poolside
• an adjustable-height handrail in the small pool
• accessible parking
• hoists for getting in and out of all pools, including the spa pool

Egham Orbit uses the Handimove mobile pool lift. This lift:

• transfers people directly from a wheelchair into the water
• rotates 360 degrees
• is easy to position
• works with both body supports and slings
