Bereavement Advice Centre

Co-op Legal Services

The Bereavement Advice Centre is a free helpline and web-based information service provided by Co-op Legal Services. They give practical information and advice and signposting on the many issues and procedures that face people after the death of someone close.

They have a range of information and bereavement advice topics such as:

  • what to do when someone dies
  • registering a death and informing others
  • probate and legal procedures
  • death certificate and coroner's inquest
  • the funeral
  • money and tax issues
  • coping with grief and bereavement advice
  • planning ahead

They also offer a junk mail suppression service to reduce unwanted mail to the deceased and reduce the risk of identity theft.
