Men's Pit Stop Guildford Outdoor

Guildford Outdoor Men’s Pit Stop is an active men’s peer-to-peer talking group. The aim is to get men outside and enjoying fresh air.

Location:

  • the outdoor group runs from the Rosamund Community Gardens
  • Located in East Guildford near Pewley and Merrow Downs
  • the nearest bus stop is on Epsom Road, near Tangier Road, and is a 20-minute walk from there
  • limited parking is available on Longdown Road

Activities:

  • Spend time outdoors doing jobs for the garden while spending time with other men
  • Turn up in old clothes and do jobs around the garden, such as:
    • building work
    • carpentry
    • planting
    • watering
    • harvesting
    • cooking
    • chopping wood
    • making bird boxes
    • and much more

Goals:

  • create a men’s group that helps the local community garden
  • reduce loneliness.
  • learn new skills or share skills you have.
  • increase connections and perhaps talk through difficulties you may have
  • open to new ideas and ways to help as many people as possible.

Accessibility:

  • the site is fairly flat but does not have hard paths, which may be difficult to access with a wheelchair
