Outpatient Physiotherapy
First Community Health and Care
First Community provides NHS physiotherapy for people aged 16 and over who are registered with a GP in east Surrey.
They help people with many different types of pain and movement problems, including:
- neck and back pain
- whiplash
- pain after surgery
- long-term (chronic) pain
- joint and muscle conditions
- injuries from work
- women’s health issues, such as pregnancy or pelvic pain
They use different treatments to help people feel better and move more easily. These include:
- personalised exercise plans
- group exercise classes
- hands-on therapy
- acupuncture
- electrotherapy (gentle electrical treatment)
- advice on using tape to support muscles and joints
You do not need to see a GP to get help. People can refer themselves to this service. GPs and consultants can also make referrals.
Special Requirements
Each site has a well equipped gym to aid rehabilitation. Help can be provided for anyone attending the physiotherapy department with special needs, (e.g. wheelchair users, deafness, visual disability, non-English speaking). If you think you may require assistance please contact the department before your first appointment.
