First Community Health and Care

First Community provides NHS physiotherapy for people aged 16 and over who are registered with a GP in east Surrey.

They help people with many different types of pain and movement problems, including:

  • neck and back pain
  • whiplash
  • pain after surgery
  • long-term (chronic) pain
  • joint and muscle conditions
  • injuries from work
  • women’s health issues, such as pregnancy or pelvic pain

They use different treatments to help people feel better and move more easily. These include:

  • personalised exercise plans
  • group exercise classes
  • hands-on therapy
  • acupuncture
  • electrotherapy (gentle electrical treatment)
  • advice on using tape to support muscles and joints

You do not need to see a GP to get help. People can refer themselves to this service. GPs and consultants can also make referrals.

Special Requirements

Each site has a well equipped gym to aid rehabilitation. Help can be provided for anyone attending the physiotherapy department with special needs, (e.g. wheelchair users, deafness, visual disability, non-English speaking). If you think you may require assistance please contact the department before your first appointment.
